Meet the Manassas Team Behind Level Two Chimney Manassas

We’re a local crew of four who spend our days on roofs, in attics, and inside fireboxes across Manassas, Gainesville, Bristow, and Centreville. Some of us came up through the trades, one through fire science, one through a family masonry business. What unites us is simpler than a resume: we don’t recommend work we can’t show you on a camera, and we don’t start a job without a written price in your hand. Since 2009, that’s meant 38,000+ chimneys inspected and cleaned under the Haven Standard. Here’s who shows up at your door.

Our People

Marcus T. – Lead Technician

Marcus has been sweeping and inspecting chimneys since 2014, and he’s the one who spots the things other companies miss. His specialty is camera-scan diagnostics: he’s certified on NFPA 211 Level 2 inspections and has logged more than 9,000 interior flue assessments across Prince William County. If there’s a cracked flue liner or a smoke chamber with gaps behind the firebrick, Marcus finds it, photographs it, and shows it to you before anyone talks about a repair. Before chimneys, he worked in commercial building maintenance, which is where he learned to write documentation that actually holds up. He lives in Manassas Park with a beagle that howls at the leaf blower.

Dana R. – Senior Installer

Dana handles the heavy end of the work: chimney liners, caps and crowns, and the occasional full rebuild. She started in masonry restoration in 2010 and shifted to chimney systems when she realized half the problems started where the flue meets the house. She’s factory-trained on DuraFlex and HeatShield systems and handles every rebuild with the same rule: if the mortar joint looks wrong, it gets redone before we leave. Dana grew up in Haymarket and knows the older housing stock around old-town Manassas well, which matters when you’re matching crown work to a 1960s brick. On weekends she’s restoring a 1973 Chevy pickup, one rust patch at a time.

Priya S. – Service Coordinator

Priya is the voice on the phone, and she’s been answering it live since she joined us in 2019. No voicemail funnels, no call centers. She schedules every job, confirms every appointment with a text when the technician is on the way, and makes sure you have your written estimate in hand before the crew ever rings the bell. Before Level Two, she worked in fire damage restoration, which means she takes chimney fire prevention personally. Priya knows the scheduling rhythms of northern Virginia: the rush before first burn in October, the panic after the first cold snap in early December, and the slow realization in March that the damper’s been broken since Thanksgiving. She’ll fit you in. She lives in Manassas and knows exactly which neighborhoods have the steepest roof pitches because she’s assigned every job that came through them.

Caleb J. – Apprentice Technician

Caleb joined the crew in 2023 after two years in HVAC, and he’s the one hauling the vacuum, staging roof ladders, and learning camera work from Marcus. He’s already passed his CSIA safety training and has swept more than 400 chimneys under supervision. What makes Caleb useful is his habit of asking the obvious question: “Why is this cap rusted on one side?” One day that caught a failed cricket flashing on a townhouse off Sudley Road before it became a ceiling stain. He grew up in Winchester and still refers to Manassas as “the big city,” which the rest of the crew finds funny every time. His human detail: he makes sourdough bread most Sundays and has opinions about it.

One Standard, Every Job

The four of us work for Level Two Chimney Manassas, an independently owned and operated company under the Haven Standard. That’s not just a name on the truck. It means every job, from a basic sweep to a full liner rebuild, follows the same rules: a written price, written scope, and written warranty before work starts (Haven Standard Clause 1). A documented photo record on every visit, whether we’re sweeping or inspecting (Clause 4).
