How DuraFlex Products Fail – and How We Fix Them
- DuraFlex 316L liner seam separation at the first flue tile offset. This is the one we see most in Manassas chimneys built before 1990. The liner gets pulled tight through an offset tile and, over a few hundred heating cycles, the seam opens at that binding point. The camera shows a visible gap with creosote accumulation behind it. Not a full reline. We pull the affected section, inspect the adjacent joints, and splice in a new segment with a butt-weld collar rated for the same clearance.
